Day 149- Ft.Howard

Ft.Howard Battery 122
It was such a beautiful day today I wanted to get outside. I was sick of my normal spots, so I thought I would scout out a new location. I went to Ft.Howard in Edgemere Maryland. Ft.Howard is a 19th century fort that was converted into a park in the 1940's. The fort portion of it is overgrown. This is a shot of a door to an old artillery battery, that overlooks the mouth of the Patapsco where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay.

Day 134- Farmer's Market

Sunday at the Baltimore city farmers market.

Black & White Holga

The downside to shooting film is that it is not instantaneous. This photo was shot during my excursion to Mount Vernon last week. I hope to have more up later today.

Day 131- Downtown Parking

Storm a brewing
This was taken with my iPhone from a garage in downtown Baltimore. There was a storm in the background that never hit the city.

Day 130- Cylburn and the DMC-TZ5

P1030403
We recently purchased a new point and shoot, a Panasonic DMC-TZ5. I have not really had a chance to play with it yet. So I decided to take it out today to one of my favorite places Cylburn Arboretum, here in Baltimore. It is a place I have been to quite a few times with my D50. One of my favorite pics so far from 366 was taken here.

Cylburn Arboretum

So my experience with the camera was pleasant. It has no manual controls, which took some getting used to because I usually shoot with my D50 in manual mode. The nice thing about a point and shoot is that you can just shoot. I did not have to worry about getting a correct exposure. I could just frame the shot and go. The huge LCD is amazing. I am used to shooting with a 1.5" LCD on my D50. This camera has a 3.0". On the downside there is no raw shooting. The slight tweaks you can make with Raw really go a long way towards a great photo.

All in All it was a fun time. I now realize how outdated my D50 is becoming.

Day 129- Harbor East

Taken after a great dinner at Pazzo's in the Harbor East section of
Baltimore.

Day 128- Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon

I made my first trip to Mount Vernon today. Which is kind of amazing since I have lived in the DC-Baltimore area for more then 10 years now. Besides the oppressive heat, and big crowds in it was a good time.

Day 122- 8 x 10

Wow two photos in the same week I am on a roll. This was shot at the 8 x 10 club in the Federal Hill section of Baltimore. The artist was Jerry Joseph, not bad for a iPhone shot indoors with no light.
